Jeremy Blank is an interdisciplinary visual artist whose practice spans painting, photography, moving image and digital media. Over more than four decades his work has investigated the evolving nature of images and their relationship to memory, perception and cultural representation expressing breadth without losing continuity. Educated in London and Australia, Blank’s practice bridges traditional studio disciplines and contemporary image technologies through sustained professional exhibition, research, curatorial practice and tertiary education teaching roles.
Jeremy was born at Hampton Court, Middlesex, England. He studied art at Chelsea School of Art, London and was awarded the UK New Contemporaries student prize for painting in his graduate year. He completed Post-Graduate studies at Goldsmiths College, London and MA (dist) in Electronic Arts from Curtin University Western Australia. A prize-winner in the John Moores Liverpool XV UK National Painting survey. His work in Video Dance, photography and curation has been recognised at award levels in Europe and Australia.
In 1999 Jeremy moved to Perth, Western Australia where he currently lives and works. In 2019 Jeremy took on the role of Director at Victoria Park Centre of the Arts, Perth Western Australia until retiring in 2026. In this period Jeremy oversaw the establishment of a full exhibition program, annual NAIDOC exhibition with corporate sponsorship, an annual multicultural exhibition also additional artforms, performance and music programming; strengthening and developing the Centre’s 30 year community presence.
